The Missisquoi River Band plays a variety of powerful bluegrass-inspired original and traditional music. Sheldon's Patrick Murphy and Jim and Cindy Weed of Enosburg form the songwriting and vocal backbone of the band with unique three-part harmony arrangements. Weed plays lead guitar while Murphy and Cindy Weed complete the sound on rhythm guitar and solid bass fiddle. Missisquoi River Band first 13-song CD Plenty of Heartaches was recorded, mixed and mastered by Andre` Maquera, West Street Digital in St. Albans, VT.
Band favorites include Murphy's bluesy "If My Girl Friend was a Tractor", a local favorite, and his "The Raid" song that tells the story of the 1864 Confederate raid on the town of St. Albans, the northernmost engagement of the Civil War. Jim Weed's " Highgate Road" and Cindy Weed's "Love That Never Failed" paint pictures of love, life and loss in Vermont's Green Mountains.
